The **Asturian traditional repertoire** is the body of pieces that makes
up **Asturian traditional music** played on gaita and other traditional
instruments.

It brings together several functions: the **alborada**, which opens the
day at festivals; the **processional march** of the religious cortege;
the **xirandilla** and the **muiñeira** for dancing; and a broad
ceremonial and festive songbook tied to romerías and celebrations.

It isn't a closed repertoire. It's passed on, reinterpreted and keeps
growing through new arrangements and composition that grow from that
same root.
